Technical Description on an iPhone 7
The innovator of apple is a guy named Steve Jobs and was founded on April 1, 1976. The company originally began designing and selling computers. However, as time passed, they have adapted to newer technological advances and began to develop other forms of technology such as, the iPhone. The first iPhone was released in 2007, advertising the use of apps on a small mobile device. Ever since, the iPhone series has been manipulated and enhanced every other year. The renovation of the iPhone is important because there are technological advancing occurring every day. Therefore, when Apple comes out with their newest product consumers will be satisfied, in result of all the new and interesting features that came along with the product. Further, the iPhone 7 is one the newest phone created by Apple. There are many dramatic features that Apple introduced since the iPhone 6. With its two sizes, iPhone and iPhone plus, it is meant to improve the iPhone experience with its new features. It introduces an advanced new camera system as well as the best performance and battery life ever in an iPhone, splash and water resistant. The figure below shows the models of the two different types of iPhone 7.
Color:
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus introduces Apple’s newest colors. It is available in a beautiful black with matte finish or a deep, high-gloss jet black. The iPhone 7 is also available in Apple’s signatures colors: silver, gold, and rose gold. Furthermore, iPhone 7 (PRODUCT)RED was a limited-edition color where every purchase would contribute to the global funding of AIDS research.
Home Button:
The home button on the iPhone 7 was re-designed to be durable, responsive, and pressure sensitive. It gives the user a precise solid feedback when pressed. It is also customizable for different app use. By using a highly-advanced fingerprint sensor, Touch ID makes unlocking the iPhone easy and secure. The home button is also important when using Apple Pay. With Apple Pay, you can pay instantly and securely in stores, in apps, and on the web. Card details are never shared by Apple with merchants or stored on your device.
iPhone 7 camera:
iPhone 7 comes with optical image stabilization meant to reduce blur associated with motion and handshake. A sensor helps the lens counteract even the tiniest movement. Apple made the camera better for shooting photos and videos in low lighting. Moreover, its advance new features like wide color capture make the photos look more vibrant. The flash adjusts according to the color temperature of the environment resulting in sharper, brighter photos. iPhone 7 will make videos in darker settings look better. The new 12MP camera can capture high-resolution videos up to 4K while the new 7MP front camera allows you to take sharper and more vibrant selfies.
iPhone 7 Plus camera:
The iPhone 7 Plus does not only have the same new features as the iPhone 7, it has two new camera systems. The camera on the iPhone 7 Plus works with two cameras, 12MP wide-angle camera that is on the iPhone 7 with a 12MP telephoto that can get even closer to your target. This allows for higher-quality zoom. The iPhone 7 camera also introduces Apple’s new Portrait mode. Portrait mode automatically creates a depth-of-field effect that keeps the subject sharp while creating a beautifully blurred background. It uses the dual-camera system and advanced machine learning to produce the effect.
Retina HD display:
The iPhone 7 display uses the same color space as the digital cinema industry, so what you see will be noticeably more brilliant and vibrant. The Retina HD display can deliver cinema-standard colors and the best color management in the smartphone industry. When using 3D Touch, your iPhone responds with subtle tabs. So not only will you see what a press can do, but you’ll also feel it. The new Retina HD display on the iPhone 7 deeply integrates 3D touch throughout iOS allowing you to interact with messages and other apps in a more responsive way.
Battery:
iPhone 7 contains the most powerful chip ever in a smartphone. It is both faster and more efficient than any previous iPhone. The A10 Fusion chip enables faster processing and the ability to use less power when you do not need as many apps running making this the longest battery ever in an iPhone, working at twice the speed of an iPhone 6 and still enjoy more time between charges.
Audio:
For the first time, the iPhone comes with stereo speakers, delivering two times the audio output of iPhone 6s and increased dynamic range. With the iPhone 7, listening to music, watching videos, or making a call on speaker allows for a clearer sound. Furthermore, the iPhone 7 comes with EarPods meaning they are wireless. However, if you want to listen through your old headphones, a headphone jack adapter is included.
Conclusion:
The iPhone 7 provides new features: better cameras, new processors, two new color options and improved water resistance. The iPhone 7 has generated 76.3 million dollars’ worldwide and as Apple back on top as the world’s top smartphone vendor. Although, some may think that the iPhone series has been repetitive throughout the years, apple has been able to incorporate new features that has improved experience and costumers faith in the product.

Reflection
This assignment was interesting. We had to pick an object and write about all its features. The features that are used to build the object/device. The first thing that was part of this piece was the background/ introduction. This section of the technical description contained the founder of the product and why is it important within todays society. Afterwards, it goes in depth with the object its self. I began including the items that were inside and then I worked my way out. For every specific item I described its use and why was it important of the object to contain that item. Lastly, I concluded by talking about the products future and its current success. I believe that it was beneficial to write this piece because there’s many things within the engineering field that needs further and an in-depth description. Therefore, it was good to experience this kind of task, which helped improve my descriptive skills. However, I did hit some walls why writing the technical description because personally I’m not good at describing things. While writing this, there were many times where I had to take a step back and think on what the best way would be to portray the best description.
